Supernova Remnant


This image from the Hubble Space Telescope shows a supernova remnant named SNR The remnant was created after a massive star exploded, throwing its constituent material out into surrounding space. The supernova remnant is situated in the Large Magellanic Cloud, a dwarf spiral galaxy that lies close to the Milky Way.
