The accompanying il lustration shows the type of plate forelectric car heaters which is made by the National Electrical Manu-facturing Co. The plate is of sheet iron, corrugated and thenheavily coateil with white enamel which insures perfect insulationand at the same time prevents deterioration. The heating resist-ance is also imbedded in enamel and thus protected against cor-. rosion, or against a break that would ground the heater. Thewires are so placed as to be free from mechanical strains and as theheater cools slowly when current is shut ofT. the wires are sub-jected to an annealing process each time. The form of heater plateis such as to give a large radiating surface for a small space. Thecompany also makes a regulating switch which carries 25 amperesat 650 volts and can be arranged for three degrees of heat: a lockprevents the degree being changed until the inain switch is these devices are placed on the market by the Morris ElectricCompany of New York.
