The foreground of the lower pictureshows either a corner of Caseys redoubtor the works between it and the Wil-liamsburg road. On the Official Map of the Campaign of1864 the twin houses are named 1886 only one of them remained. Apersimmon tree stood at that time on thesite of Caseys redoubt, and there wereslight traces of the old earthworks thatfor the must part were erected after thebattle of Seven Bines.
