Zen garden of Ryoanji Temple, one of the most famous zen gardens for its simplicity created in the dry landscape style (called Karesansui) between 14th and 16th centuries only by raked white pebbles and fifteen stones. Ryoanji Temple has been rebuilt several times from its original construction in 983 bc. The actual construction dates from 18th century and was added to Unesco's World Heritage List in 1994. Kyoto.
