At the Kamakhya temple, devotees light earthen lamps filled with ghee (clarified butter) to fulfill their wishes. Located on the Neelachal Hills in Guwahati, it is one of the holiest shrines of Assam and venerated as a Shakti Peeth (seat of the female divine) in India. January 15, 2006.
