The Quarai Pueblo Ruins, Salinas Pueblo Missions National Monument, at Quarai, New Mexico.


Quarai Catholic priests were head of New Mexico's 17th century Spanish Inquisition, at Nuestra Senora de la Purisima Concepcion de Quarai, Salinas Pueblo Missions National Monument, Quarai Pueblo New Mexico. Formerly trading partners, the Apache Indian raids, drought, and famine caused the Pueblo to be abandoned in the 1670's.
