3rd International Psychoanalytic Congress, held in Weimar, Germany, from 21-22 September 1911. The attendees included Austrian psychologist Sigmund Freud (1856-1939) and Swiss psychologist Carl Jung (1875-1961), standing together in the second row at centre. Jung is behind his wife Emma and to Freud's left. To Freud's right is Hungarian psychoanalyst Sandor Ferenczi. Freud and Jung were key figures in the development of two major schools of psychology. Also present are several other key proponents of their theories: Swedish psychiatrist Poul Bjerre (front row, far left) next to Swiss psychiatrist Eugen Bleuler. The two women in front of Freud are Russian psychoanalyst Lou Andreas-Salome (left) and US psychoanalyst Beatrice M. Hinkle (right). In the front row are Toni Wolff (third from right) and Franz Riklin (far right). In the second row are Otto Rank (far left) and Ernest Jones (second from right).
