A small sword for Russian officers, reign of Catherine II, the Great (1762 - 1796) Thrusting blade of flattened hexagonal section, the upper third with fullers, with gilt decorative etchings and inscription "Vivat Catharina" in Latin and Cyrillic script on both sides. Brass hilt with partially preserved fire gilding. The grip with brass wire wrap. The point was possibly slightly shortened. Length 100 cm. Very rare.
