One of these scenes shows us the various attitudes of the men, in front of a barrack-hut, during the leisure hours of that Sunday morning ; some of them are under the hands of the barber to have their hair cut or to be shaved; some are sipping a glass of wine at the table; one is washing at a tub; another is drying his shirt and trousers on the roof; one is mending his boots, one reading, and one writing a letter: one smoking his pipe, and one sleeping on the grass. To the left we see a huckster in his cart offering eatables and drinkables for sale'. From "Illustrated London News", 1864.
