He was born in York county about 1730, and died in 1786. Hewas the youngest son of Caspar and Judith Spengler, and residedwith the latter on his plantation one mile East of York. Casparin his will, probated in 1760, devised two hundred acres of thisland to Philip Caspar, and one hundred to his son Bernhard. Thelatter afterwards conveyed his devise to Philip Caspar, who at thetime of his demise owned four hundred acres of valuable Yorkvalley land. Margaret Salome, wife of Philip Caspar, was bornApril 6, 1736, and died June 29, 1813, and her remains rest inZions Lutheran churchyard, York. Shiny Cap Dinkel.
