Alban Pilgrimage 2021 celebrating Saint Alban, Britain's first Saint, re-enacting his final journey to execution and martyrdom - re-enactors

Due to Covid the annual Pilgrimage did not take place in 2020 however it returned in 2021 reverting back to the original route from St. Michael's Church through Verulamium Park and up to the Cathedral. The procession includes giant puppets and re-enactments including the execution of Saint Alban but cutting off his head. It is said the executioner's eyeballs fell out and are depicted by giant eyeballs in the procession
