This opinion is confirmedby the descriptions of the mouth-organs given by M. MilneEdwards in the Crochard edition of the Regne Animalof the species which he terms Rocinela ophthalmica (givingerroneously Leach as the author of the species), whichprove that that species is in fact an ^ga, differing onlyfrom u^ga emarginata in the apparent soldering togetherof the two terminal joints of the foot-jaws. ROCINELA DANMONIENSIS. 291. ROCINELA DANMONIENSIS. Specific character. Elongate-ovate ; eyes converging anteriorly, large, nearly joining dorsally; basal joints of the upper antennte subcylin-drical; coxa (especially of the three posterior pairs of pereiopoda) prominent,elongate-ovate, and pointed ; second, third, and fourth segments of the pleonsickle-shajjed and laterally produced. Length, one inch. Rocinela Danmoniensis. Leach, Diet. Sci. Nat. xii. p. 349. Desmarest,Crust, p. 304. Milne Edwards, Crust, 244. White, Cat. Brit. Crust, p. 80. Brit. Crust, p. 352. This species has hitherto been known only by original typical specimen taken half a century agoin Plymouth Sound, preserved in the British Museum, which has supplied the materials for the figures given atthe head of this description. It was described by Leachas being en si mauvais etat quil est impossible den U 2 292 faire une description specifique. Tlie posterior segmen
