The white octagonal, pyramidal tower reaches a height of 89 ft. above water level. A lantern with a fourth-order illuminating apparatus beams a white 6,000 candlepower flash of 1 second duration every 4 seconds visible at 15 miles, and has a red sector of 13, 500 candlepower from 000° to 041° which covers Sarah Ledge and shoals westward.
