The perseid meteor shower as seen from Toll's island, on the eastern side of St Mary's, the largest island in the Isles of Scilly archipelago. Here light pollution is minimal, and is one of the best dark sky locations in the UK. The coastal rock formations are silhouetted against the night sky, and a composite of several images reveals several meteors burning up in the Earth's atmosphere.
