. Florists' review [microform]. Floriculture. 70 The Florists'Review Mat 29. 1913. CINCINNATI. The Market. Monday of this week was quite dif- ferent from the corresponding day of last week. The supply had shortened considerably, while enough call for stock sprang up to clean up the receipts pret- ty well. The shortened supply is due to the size of the cuts diminishing and to holding back by some growers, for Memorial day. During last week the oversupply of stock continued until near the close. Then the supply slackened, while the demand picked up, and as a result there were some pretty fair clear- ances secured May 24. The supply for Memorial day will be large, but it is hard to forecast, with the local troubles, such as the flood, strike, etc., just what the demand will amount to locally. It is certain, how- ever, judging from the orders on file, that shipping business will be good. To the list of flowers in the market have been added large quantities of cape jasmines. These with the offerings of roses, carnations, lilies and other flowers should give the market an adequate supply for the holiday demand. Various Notes. J. T. Conger had the large Thompson- Van Ness wedding decoration at Qlen- dale May 20. It was Mr. Conger's third decoration for the family. C. E. Critchell reports a specially good call for hardy cut ferns. The Cincinnati Cut Flower Exchange expects to have no trouble in disposing of a large extra supply of Easter lilies for Memorial day. P. J. dinger and Eobert Jennings went to New Castle, Ind., May 26. Louis Davis, of Mr. dinger's staff, was there May 23. A. C. Heckman, Jr., spent May 23 and 24 in Indianapolis. It is reported that Mr. Klunder, for- merly of the Hill-Heller store in this city, has accepted a position at Atlanta, Ga. Gus. Adrian reports a good season in spring bedding. He has cleftned up the greater part of his large stock. Visitors: Peter Herb, Mt. Healthy, O.; Mr. Donaldson, of the Willowdeen Nurseries, Sparta, Ky. C. H. H. Plants
