Other improvers of the early Shorthorn were Sir James Pennyman, the Aislabies of Stud- ley Royal, the Blacketts of Newby, Millbank of Barningham, James Brown, Stephenson, Wetherell, Maynard, Snowdon, Waistell, and Richard and William Barker.
