This Is a gem of many colors, exceed- ingly rare and beautiful, which should not be mistaken for the common vinca. CYPERUS ALTERNIFOLIUS. The Umbrella Palm is of the very easiest culture, if given plenty of water. Indeed it will grow in a bowl, dish or vase partly filled with soil and water. From the center of the umbrella-like leaves appear small flowers, followed by young plants.
