Another and very important advantage offered by this construction is thatthese bars being wound (each couple of bars with one section of wire) and theiron bars not touching one another, the magnetization and demagnetization ofthe same is effected instantaneously, and adds to the efficiency of the machine,since all local action is thus avoided. It is entirely unnecessary with this armature to provide for ventilation, sincethere is no heat generated therein, and hence a great saving of power is effectedcompared with other machines which act as fans, and require considerable powersimply to keep up the ventilation.
