The losses have been more than recovered, both ma-terially and in the Chinese Church. Paoting-fu was one of the scenes ofmissionary martyrdom in the Boxer outbreak of 1900. Dr. Taylor, Mr. andMrs. Simcox with their three little children, and Dr. and Mrs. Hodge gaveup their lives in martyrdom.
