BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH Dr. David Roberts has for years occupied a conspicuous place among the veterina-rians of the United States, and at the present time occupies the position of State Veteri-narian of Wisconsin. His work has been of unusual importance to the live stockinterests of the Northwest. He has traveled widely in the practice of his profession,and through his efforts infectious diseases have been stamped out from among manyvaluable herds in all p^rts of the country. For generations back the Roberts family has been interested in the breeding andtreating of live stock. Twenty-five years before any veterinary college had been estab-lished in America, J. P. Roberts, the grandfather of Dr. David Roberts, was engagedto some extent in treating horses and cattle. His father, John M.
