Our little party often men presented quite a novel and picturesque appear-ance in their gavly-embroidered fur coats, red sashes, andyellow fox-skin hoods, as they assembled in a body beforeour house to bid good-by to the Ispravink and the heavily-loaded sledges were ranged in a line infront of the door, and almost a hundred dogs were spring-ing frantically against their harnesses, and raising deafen-ing howls of impatience as we came out of the house intothe still, frosty atmosphere.
