It should be sown early, and it is usually ripe before the severe drouths of sum- mer, that injure oats and spring wheat, so often occur. It is a richer feed than oats, and better for young stock than «orn. 100 lbs. of barley meal produces as much growth in young pigs as 119 lbs. of corn meal. Pk., 30c; bu., $1.
