The dome of thedryer is of veryheavy metal, so ar-ranged that it willnot be readilyburned out by thehot sand lyingagainst the outsideand the fire green sand isplaced around thedome, or heater, in-side the steel jack-et; the arrangementof the dome beingsuch that the heat isthoroughly circulat-ed through the bodyof the sand, remov-ing all the moistureand drying out the vegetable matter. The company hasequipped its latest type of dryer with a heavy cast-ironpipe above the dome, allowing much sand to be put intothe dryer at one time, thus materially increasing thedrying capacity. Furthermore, the drier will not clog up,because wherever the sand dries, it is free to flow awayfrom the drying bin.
