Astatine (At). Diagram of the nuclear composition, electron configuration, chemical data, and valence (outer electron) orbitals of an atom of astatine

Astatine (At). Diagram of the nuclear composition, electron configuration, chemical data, and valence (outer electron) orbitals of an atom of astatine-210 (atomic number: 85), an isotope of this element. The nucleus consists of 85 protons (red) and 125 neutrons (orange). 85 electrons (white) successively occupy available electron shells (rings). Astatine is a radioactive halogen in group 17, period 6, and the p-block of the periodic table. Astatine-210, the most stable of the isotopes of astatine, has a half-life of just over 8 hours.
