Sunset view Artemisia Geyser, with overflow streams flowing to Firehole River, Cascade Group, Upper Geyser Basin, Yellowstone

Artemisia Geyser is one of the prettiest pools in the Cascade Group. Eruptions are highly variable, ranging from 9 to 34 hours. When erupting, however, the water fountain may reach 9 m (30 ft) and last 15-30 minutes. The name is due to the pale green-grey colour of the surrounding sinter, which early observers likened to the colour of sagebrush (Artemisia). An evening light view.
