After a good deal of work, the cause was was a leak in the suction pipe not far from theshore. During one of the autumn gales, a vessel had LAKE WATER 153 come into the harbour for shelter and had cast anchornot far away from the intake pipe. The anchor did nothold fast, and the vessel dragged it along the bottom
