(1) The trail is ordinarily used on covered decks, intaking up the march on drill, and for short distances only duringcompany and battalion maneuvers from the halt to avoid un-necessary movement of the piece. (2) The position of trail maybe taken from any position in the^ same general manner as in com-ing to the order, omitting the lastmotion. From Order or Trail to Charge Bayonet. 105.
