PROSTATE, DRAWING
Anatomy of the prostate. Located at the level of the bladder (in yellow), the prostate surrounds the urethra. It produces secretions, contributing to the formation of sperm, that are expelled through the urethra. A canal in dead-end, the prostatic utricle, embeds itself into the thickness of the prostate ; it is a matter of Muller canals vestige, embryonic ducts at the origin of a part of the feminine genital organs and regressing among men. The region of the prostatic urethra in which the ejaculatory ducts and prostatic utricle, named seminal colliculus butt. The seminal vesicles (in blue) participate to the formation of sperm. Their secretion is discharged into the urethra via the ejaculatory duct. The Cowper's glands (or bulbo-uretral, in yellow) are located in the thickness of the urogenital diaphragme.
