Preston Canover Thursday 21st July 2016 A Woman has died following a powered glider crashing and breaking into piece near to the village of Preston Canover this lunchtime. The female glider pilot is belived to have taken off from Lashham airfield just after this morning and got into difficult. Emergency services rushed to the scene but where unable to save the Crews from Hampshire fire and rescue were called to the scene just after 12. The glider, powered by a small back-up engine, had come down in a cornfield near to Southwood Farm field breaking into piece. One resident who witnessed the crash. Said there was a noise coming from the glider. Than it just dropped from the sky. A team of investigators from the Air Accident Investigation Branch (AAIB) have spent the afternoon at the scene at Southwood Farm, in Preston Candover and have used a drone to gather evidence. Officers from Hampshire Constabulary are currently at the scene working with the AAIB©UKNIP
