Theground-floor accommodationof the house will be seenfrom the accompanying the floor above there areeleven bedrooms, one ofthem at the south-westernend over the billiard-room having a dressing-roomand bathroom attached, while at the other end ofthe building there is a second bathroom. Thegardens are not yet finished. Some interesting additions have been madeto Claverdon Hall, Warwickshire, an old timber. OLDCASrLE, DALLINGTON, SUSSEX. NEUlfN,ALTERATIONS AND ADDITIONS :hitect for 299 Recoit Dcsii^/is in Domestic Architecture and rough-cast building of the sixteenth exterior view shows an addition on the southside of the house, comprising a large playroom onthe ground floor, with a bedroom, bathroom, &c.,over. It was found possible by much care inpropping to retain the old brick-and-stone chimney-stack, the remainder of the work taken down beingof no architectural interest. The new work wascarried out in harmony with the old, in rough-cast and timber, the interior being simply treatedwith the oak beams and floor joists exposed andplastered between, the windows with wood framesfilled in with steel casements and lead music-room, of which an interior view isshown, was an extension on the west side of thehouse, and was planned as a onestory addition toavoid any interference with the long and low pro-portions of the existing buildings.
