Monument to the Welsh involvement in the Spanish Civil War of 1936 - 1938. One plaque states "You are history. You are legend. You are the heroic example of democracy's solidarity and universality. We shall not forget you, and when the olive tree of peace puts forth its leaves again - Come back! - La Pasionaria, Madrid 1938" The other plaque states " Dedicated to the Welsh volunteers for liberty who defended democracy in the Spanish Civil War 1936-1938.
