Business for the past week has lirightened up a little, and with much cooler weather with us we can look for much better conditions from now on. Although asters are still very scarce, we have plenty of other kinds of stock. We have had quite an abundance of American Beauty roses, which are bringing anything but good prices. Tea roses are all very short and it is diffi- cult to get any long stemmed stock. Lily of the valley and lilies have turned very scarce and are bringing fairly good prices. NOTES. Among the visitors this week are L. J. Little of Uniontown, Geo. L. Hus- croft of Steubenville, and Emil Schloss of Schloss Bros.; New York, the latter working his way back from the conven- tion. Myers & Samtman, the rose growers of Chestnut Hill, are consigning some fine new Lady Alice Stanley roses to the McCallum The firm name of W. D. Fischer & Sons, of New Castle. Pa., has been changed to Fischer & IMcGrath. The Saxonwald Greenhouses at Cas- tle Shannon are cutting some very fine carnations from new plants. Geo. Marshall and E. J. McCallum have returned from Canada and are back into harness again. The Blind Floral Co. is cutting some very fine America gladioli at their farm in "West View. J. GUST. RUSCH & CO.
