Activists protest in Union Square Park in New York against the previous day's verdict in the trial of George Zimmerman

Activists protest in Union Square Park in New York on Sunday, July 14, 2013 against the previous day's verdict in the trial of George Zimmerman who was acquitted in a Florida court of all charges in the killing of Trayvon Martin. The unarmed Martin was shot and killed by neighborhood watch volunteer George Zimmerman in February 2012. The shooting raised the consciousness of the public about racial profiling and the suspiciousness of young black men based on their clothing. (© Richard B. Levine)
