False keyhole with chased escutcheon at the front, two hasps for padlocks on the sides. Hinged lid, the central keyhole with spring-loaded cover plate. Lock mechanism with fivefold locking. Lavish openwork, engraved cover plate with depiction of a standing lion with decorative cartouche, surrounded by acanthus vines. Interior with old red lead paint. Two movable side handles.
