They have gone be-yond the reach of our land, they can-not be recalled and our hearts arebitter with their memory, but maywe not become aware of thy pres-ence, thy restraining grace, thy help,even in the things that are past, andmay not some things that are irre-vocable be transformed by the lightwhich thy shielding hand scarce con-ceals until they become things ofwistful beauty and of promise?. Many are afraid to look into thefuture, for though they cannot seeits shape, they tremble before itsmystery. May they not see the rain-bow promise of thy grace, makingthe future to be not fearsome buteven to throb with invitation? O Lord, let there be wrought quietmiracles within our being while wepray. Let there come to us some ofthe gracious experiences that have al-ways come to the people of God whenthey have truly prayed; experienceswhich made them aware that theyhad touched the hem of Gods gar-ment and knew that they werehealed. 0 Lord, we submit our hearts andour lives to Thee, desiring that theyshould be changed, that over themshould blow the soft winds of heavenand upon them should fall the lightfrom thy throne, that all our waysand all our thoughts might be madedifferent because we pray. 0 Lord, let there be wrought with-in us strange though quiet things,things we could not tell, but thingsas mysterious and potent as arewrought b
