St Alban Wood Street, London, by Christopher Wren in the Perpendicular Gothic style. The tower.

St Alban Wood Street, London, rebuilt after the Great fire of London (1666) between 1682 and 1687, by Christopher Wren in the Perpendicular Gothic style. Only the tower survived wartime bombing in the 1940s. The ruins of the rest of the church were removed in the 1950s, leaving the tower isolated in the middle of Wood Street. The door shown in the photograph originally provided access from the nave: the large recessed arch with the door faced south into the church. The tower has since been converted to secular use.
