The Baptist chuch was organized in 1858, under the ad-ministration of Rev. fm. Branch. Their church was also 194 HISTORY OK WOODFORD COUNTY erected in 1864. This has since served the congregation asa place of worship. The St. Marys Catholic church was organized in 1863,and their first church was finished in 1865. The presenthandsome edifice was erected in 1898. In 1864 the Christian church was organized under theleadership of Elder John Lindsey and in 1865 their churchwas built.
