Showy, profuse-flowering plants, comprising numerous varieties, with white, sulphur and yellow grounds, spotted with crimson, scarlet and pink, fine for greenhouse or moist, shady situations; half-hardy perennials; blooming the first year from seed if sown early ; 1 foot. Fine for hanging-bas- buds are at kets, etc.; small yellow flowers, fragrant foliage. . 5 MUSA ENSETE. (Abyssinian Banana.) 3221 A splendid plant for the open air in summer, pro- ducing a most striking effect when planted singly or in groups. In our hot summer it luxuriates and attains gigantic propor- tions when freely supplied with manure and water. The seeds germinate easily if started in hotbed or bottom heat in green- house.
