Cucurbituril cyclic macromolecule. Molecular model of the macrocycle cucurbit-7-uril, which consists of seven units of glycoluril linked by methylene bridges. This macrocyclic molecule forms a pumpkin-shaped ring. It has potential applications in nanotechnology, for use as nanocameras and nano-reactors. This molecule is also capable of chelating or encapsulating other molecules. The colour-coded atoms are: carbon (light brown), hydrogen (white), nitrogen (orange) and oxygen (red).
