These ploughs have a peculiar structure of the mould-board, or ground wrest, -whereby the cohesion of the furrow slice is completely destroyed, and turned over or inverted in a light and friable IMPROVED LOCK-COULTER MEADOW PLOUGH—for swampy or rough land. These are very heavy, strong ploughs, with steel-edged shares or points, a wrought iron lock coulter, and a reverse or drag cutter for the purpose of cutting the surface of wet meadows; they are also provided with crane clevis, so that the team can travel on the unbroken ground, and thereby keep clear of the miry furrow.
