Sounding Lead, John Ericsson, c. 1836 - c. 1860 sounding lead Datplood with a sling. The lead contains a glass tube with a brass bowl next to it, which indicates the depth by water that penetrates into the tube. The tube has applied for this under a crane, in a circular formation of the lead of the lead. The glass tube and dish can be covered with a semi -round iron plate.
