Omikuji tied to a bamboo pole at Yasukuni Shrine

Yasukuni Shrine (靖国神社 or 靖國神社) is a Shinto shrine located in Chiyoda, Tokyo, Japan. It was created by Emperor Meiji to commemorate the individuals who had died in service of the Empire of Japan during the Meiji Restoration. Many Japanese and tourists visit the shrine and would ask for their fortune by drawing a Omikuji. When the divination is bad, they will tie the slip to a tree or pole at the shrine, hoping to advert the bad luck.
