A small genus, derived from Lobophora, characteristic of Northern temperate regions. The altered structure of vein 8 in the hindwings of the <$, and the separa- tion of 6 and 7 (very rare in this family), are due to lateral expansion, intended to compensate for absorption of the dorsal area by the folded lobe; when they occur in the ? also, they afford an instance of the transference of secondary sexual characters through inheritance. 1.
