Theancient Tusculum having been destroyed by the Romans in 1191,this town (with 6970 inhab., incl. environs), which is insignificantand comparatively modern, sprang up on the ruins of a former villa,overgrown with underwood (frasche), from wliich it derives its the piazza, which is embellished with a pretty fountain, rises thecathedral of .S.
