Commercial airplanes that have been taken out of commission by various international airlines are parked on an abandoned runway
Jets - which have been "mothballed" by the major international airlines - are parked on an unused runway at the Kingman, Arizona, airport for long-term storage. Many of the commercial airplanes are kept here because they have been removed from the carrier's fleet for lack of need or they are too old. They are taken here to the dry Mojave Desert in northern Arizona to avoid rust and deterioration from the elements. This is an aerial photograph looking directly down onto the runway. These planes are parked exactly as shown. No digital altering or enhancements have been made.
