HARD COPY UNIT PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION. Both monochrome and colorhard copy units are available. The paragraphs that follow describeeach of these units in more detail. Monochrome Hard Copy Unit. A monochrome hard copy unitproduces paper copies from standard, raster scan video signals ofrefreshed graphic terminals. The unit produces high contrast blackand white or gray scale copies within seconds, using a clean, dryprocess. The unit is completely self contained, has a built-in ? •stacking tray, and is mounted on casters for portability. A typicalmonochrome hard copy unit is shown in figure H-82-0178-014 Figure 1-15. Monochrome Hard Copy Unit 1-44 The monochromefhard copy is easily interfaced to a .graphic systemor refreshed terminal by one coaxial cable and one control as simfle as pushing a button* Remote operation is provided for, allowing control from a simple remote switch or from acomplex computer system, under program control. The monochrome^hard copy unit developing uses 3M brand, type 777dry-silver paper, The process is dry and stable and allows clean,conventional paper handling* Maintainability is built in. All electrical and mechanicalassemblies are easily accessible. Circuit boards and modules can beeasily removed or placed on an extender board for maintenance* Thetransport mechanism, is virtually jam-free.
