Sergeant 1st Class Erik Kingsley and his family at Kennedy Hall, on the Special Warfare Center and School (SWCS) campus on Ft. Bragg, , Dec. 13, 2018 following a ceremony in which he was awarded the Army Soldier’s Medal. Sergeant 1st Class Kingsley was awarded the medal for rescuing an unconcious man from a vehicle engulfed in flames; the Soldier’s Medal is awarded to any member of the Armed Forces who distinguishes themselves by heroism not involving actual conflict with an enemy.
