Etiology.—The disease is probably due to a specific microorganism,but what the microorganism is has not been determined. Pascheff^describes a baciUus resembhng the pseudodiphtheria bacilkis, whichhe found in a number of cases. His findings are yet to be is apparently the exciting cause. Dimmer thinks it probable thatthe visible rays of short undulation and the ultraviolet rays may causethe disease. Fig. 134 IV^.
