The examination of prepara-tions fixed in Zenkers fluid and stained by Mallorys aniline bluemethod for connective tissue, shows that the apparent continuitybetween islets and acini or ducts is real, and that no connectivetissue fibrils are interposed between the islet and the acini withwhich it appears to be continuous. In the islets of this class itis impossible to define a capsule, though such a structure may withjustice be ascribed to the islets of class 2.
