Buffier"; edizione duodecima, del Padre Francesco Jacquier, appresso Francesco Pitteri, Venezia. Type: Antique engraved map. The Niger river is shown on the map with its source in a lake approxiately in today's Congo, flowing north to Lake Chad, and then west to flow into the sea in Senegal. The map shows the phantom island of S. Matteo (St Matthew), close to the equator to the south of the Ivory Coast.
